MALL F&B DESIGN | THE CLEMENTI MALL
|
The Clementi Mall Food Hall Zone at basement one was revamped with the intent to expand the range of F&B selection. One of the key aims beyond creating an enticing food retail environment was to simultaneously raise the profiles of our local food establishments. Inspirational sources from chic marketplaces were refined and utilized as a design concept to promote desires to purchase and sample foods from a wide multitude of selection, akin to grabbing a selection from a degustation menu.
The revamp includes the reconfiguration of food kiosk units, with an increase from 14 to 19 units. The kiosks layout, common circulation area flooring and ceiling were redefined and designed to provide a more efficient usage for both tenants and shoppers. A departure from the previously bright white washed interior design, the new concept features plenty of warm and mood lighting, along with timber finishes on walls and ceiling, creating an intimate and dramatic retail environment to entice shoppers on food purchases. Diagonally orientated elements like timber cladding and trellis evoke a subtle sense of dynamism and energy that presents the whole Food Hall Zone as a unified concept, whilst simultaneously allowing tenancy brand expressions and designs to be assimilated seamlessly through careful coordination. One of the key factors to the concept implementation was the great collaborative work between with the mall and the kiosk tenants creating attractive counter designs and visual merchandising displays that tie in well with the Food Hall Zone. The ambience of the gourmet marketplace concept was also enhanced through the use of rustic stone floors with great tactile variations, adding a touch of strong earthy textures that resonates well with the ideas of food, culinary arts and natural sources of ingredients. In addition to the design of the new wayfinding system, key strategic transitional commuting areas were also enhanced with public seating and media screens, allowing display of media content and information for shoppers at basement one. |
